What are the signs of postnatal depression? How long do mums normally experience this? Does it always happen immediately after baby is born??

It sounds like you might need to speak to a doctor about postpartum depression/anxiety! We do worry as a first time mum but once it goes over a ‘normal’ level and starts to impact your wellbeing you need to take some steps to try and reduce your level of overwhelm.

They may offer you someone to talk to or medication depending on your personal preferences but you don’t have to suffer alone or in silence. It’s okay to feel like this and it’s more than okay to reach out even if you may be scared of what they might think. They’ve heard it all and more, believe me.

Sending love and strength in such a tough time for you. This will not last, remember that when it gets difficult!
