My six and a half month old is really quiet! We have some babbles now and then but no trying to copy. He laughs but that’s quiet too!

Is there anything I can do to encourage babble? I talk to him all the time. Should I be worried?

I think babies usually start to babble from around six months. My little one was quite quiet too at six months, just the occasional screech. She didn’t babble a lot. She is now nine months and really started babbling and a lot of 'dada'.

When he babbles, give him time and then you can imitate his babble too.

You can respond to his babble too, like a conversation. Act like you know what he is talking about.

Make eye contact with him and continue to talk to him all the time as you are already!
