I'm 34 weeks pregnant - first time mum. Is there anything I can do now to prepare my body for breastfeeding?
Hi! Your body will naturally prepare itself for breastfeeding.
Some people choose to harvest colostrum, which is advised to do following 37 weeks of pregnancy. To do this you would hand express and catch the colostrum in a small syringe that you can purchase from most pharmacies. Colostrum harvesting is a personal choice and is not essential for all cases. I personally chose not to harvest colostrum.
Your body is amazing and will do everything for you! Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy and take care.
