Any tips for encouraging my seven week old to settle in her 'next to me' cot at night? She was eight weeks premature and spent six weeks in SCBU so has only been home a week. I know it’s early days still but the lack of sleep is hitting hard.
Try placing something that smells like you in the cot, tuck it in well. Or maybe the blanket she had in SCBU.
Not sure if this will work for your little one but it worked for mine. I let my son fall asleep on me and then when he fell asleep I put him down. Whenever he cried I picked him up, soothed him back to sleep or just so he was calm, then put him back down. I just kept repeating the same steps over and over and he got used to it, like I say it might not work for you but it’s worth a try. Also white noise is an absolute life saver - Ewan the sheep is really good. Hope this helps!
