My 18 month old got minor invisible burn on finger when he touched coffee pot. I gave him Calpol, ran his finger under cold water and applied ointment. What else do I do? He won’t stop crying.

Ring 111 if you think he needs it, but I would also put his hand in a bowl of cold water for as long as possible. This happened to my little boy the other day and 10 minutes under the tap wasn’t enough (and also very difficult) so we ended up putting his hand in a bowl of water for much longer. I don’t think there’s an awful lot more you can do other than what you’ve done and trying to take his mind off it. Maybe let him watch some TV if he’s into it so you can keep him still and give him a treat to just pacify him a bit and get him over the initial shock.

Keep a cold compress on it, so something like a clean wet cloth. And maybe give some Neurofen in case of swelling too.

I'm not sure I can help much. My son burnt his hands on the radiator at my parents a few months back so I feel your pain. He was ok after lots of cuddles. I put savlon on it in the evening.
