Even more bizarrely, in France due dates are calculated as 40 weeks and 6 days since the date of your last period. That’s a whole week later than the way the UK calculates it. I’ll just give you a second to let that sink in. Sunk in? WE KNOW.
The takeaway? Due dates are an estimate, not a deadline. Although it’s easier said than done when you feel like you’ve swallowed a watermelon, we could all do with trying to ignore that big red circle on the calendar a little more.
